Final revision Linux launcher!
This mod has been previously released with the A Brave New World texture pack, but since the pack was created solely as a proof of concept for the mod, I’ve considered that it might be best to release the mod itself. My objective is to encourage other people to create their own packs to be used with the mod. With this objective in mind, the mod has been programmed to be VERY open-source and accessible. The Windows version is programmed in simple batch script language. The Linux version is written in shell script, and we’ve got a Mac version currently in WIP phase written in bash script.
What does this do?
The launcher checks your system calendar for the month, checks the month against a list of IF statements, and substitutes the appropriate pack for the returned month. The source gets a little more complicated, but I’ll detail that below.

See the A Brave New World Texture Pack page for instructions. This posting is intended to encourage people to repurpose this mod for their own packs, so I don’t want to clutter things up with reposted instructions. Full instructions are also included in the download archive.
A note about Nandonalt.
I know that Nandonalt has a seasons mod. His is functional while mine is purely cosmetic, making them completely different. Mine came first, but Nandonalt does great work and the mods aren’t close to similar in objective, so I’m not interested at all in splitting hairs. For the record, my first beta released in March to a select group of testers. If you just like his mod better and want to tell me about it, don’t bother. I really do not care at all and I’ll just delete your comment.
Additional information:
The download includes the proof-of-concept A Brave New World 8-part Seasonal texture pack (with 4 Holidays) as well as a custom pack creation tool with default seasons built on the vanilla Minecraft textures. Full source code is also included.
