The MagicWands v.1.9.4 for Minecraft 1.7.3This mod lets you build huge structures, dig great holes and mine tons of resources with just 2 clicks. MagicWands are not cheap, but are extremely powerful. Try it and you’ll love it.
This mod is my own work (and my first mod) and it is complete, ready to use. I am still working on it, so any suggestions are welcome.
Please note:
- Before you ask any questions, read this post. It is long, but useful.
- This mod is for singleplayer. In multiplayer, you won’t be able to craft the wands.
- If you like this mod, give me some feedback.
- If you think this sucks, don’t use it instead of giving me down-votes.
- Backup your minecraft.jar
- Download and install ModLoader.
- Run Minecraft to check if it still works
If you get a black screen, then probably one of these things happened:
a) You screwed up the ModLoader installation.
b) You forgot to delete the META-INF folder
c)n You had been using Optifog or Optimine before you installed ModLoader. These mods must be installed AFTER you install ModLoader. Other mods may conflict with ModLoader as well.
d) You didn’t use the correct ModLoader / Minecraft version.
If you found what was wrong, restore minecraft.jar from the backup and try it again, correctly. - Copy the MagicWands zip file (whole, as is) to .minecraft/mods
- Try the crafting recipes. If they work, then ENJOY this mod. If not, ask me for help.
and dominate your world!

Basic usageSpecial features and useful informationBuilding Wand delimiters must be the same
The corner blocks you use to determine the building area must be exactly the same (same block type, some wool colour, some torch/track/ladder orientation et c.). If they aren’t, you will be notified.
Removing liquids – V + Destructive Magic WandThen Destructive magic Wand can remove lava and water when used with the V modifier. This also removes plants, leaves and other weak stuff.
Filling holes with water – X and C + Reinforced Building Magic WandThen Reinforced Building Wand can fill the selected area with water. You need two buckets of water to do this. To fill the area with water, hold both X and C keys while selecting the end-block.
This way you can fill really huge holes with water or create some strange water walls etc.
However, the buckets will be lost (Just imagine how strong must the magic forces be if they can fill up to 128x128x128 blocks with water. 6 iron ingots – that is a good price for this hard work, don’t you think?).
Anti-monster grid of torches – X and V + Building Magic WandYou can now quickly place torches in the grid pattern to prevent monsters from spawning. To see how it looks, look at the last picture in the slide show (above).
To perform the torch-placing utility, you mast select 1st torch (not just the floor block) in one corner of the protected area, and then hold X+V and select 2nd torch in the opposite corner. If your torches match the pattern size, they will be included.
Chests won’t be destroyedThe Destructive Magic Wand (both basic and reinforced) spare chests while digging the other stuff. This is not only useful for robbing dungeons, but it also protects your home chests if you accidentally blown your house up
This applies only to destructive wands. Mining wands will simply destroy the chests and drop their contents as usual.
On-screen error messagesIf you screw something up, you will be warned using the in-game chat . Also, some cool effects appear.
If an error message appears, you don’t have to reselect the starting point (unless you are told to).
FreeBuild mode (new in 1.9.4)
In this mode, no resources are taken from your inventory, basic wands have same parameters as the reinforced ones, and magic wands are not damaged on use.
The FreeBuild mode can be enabled in the properties file (.minecraft/magicwands.properties) by changing FREE_BUILD_MODE=No to FREE_BUILD_MODE=Yes.
Tips and tricksAdvice:
- Never destroy the block you are standing on (falling down to the bedrock is quite painful)
- Never build house while standing inside, otherwise you might suffocate.
- Never fill large holes with water while standing at the bottom, you will drown.
- Never fill up cave systems while being underground.
- Always collect resources after mining, otherwise you will experience a lot of nlag. (That’s why I limited the number of destroyed blocks.)
- You can’t mine TNT using the mining wand, it will just explode. However, it is possible to remove TNT using the destructive wand.
- You can place redstone wire, torches and rails using the building wand.
- You can fill up caves using the building wands.
- You can quickly build ladders using the building wand.
- Use destructive and mining wands together to quickly mine ores (first destroy stone, then mine the rest).
- The building wand lets you build cages of fence. They look really cool.
- It is really easy to build enormous mob traps / spawners with the building magic wand.
- Try the wood harvesting mode (V-mining). It is really useful.
- You can dry up the sea using V-destruction.
- All wands work also in Nether! Even the water-placing and lava removal!
- You can build 1:1 model of Versailles
You can also use one of these signatures (not sure if it works here, but you can use them on other forums):
Known issuesWands of the same type share their start-pointThat’s true, but you can use basic and reinforced wands concurrently with no problem.
InventoryTweaks mod is confusedThen InventoryTweaks mod seems to be confused if you have two wands of the nsame type in your quick bar and use one of them. They will then start ton rapidly swap and do strange things. This is probably bug in the InventoryTweaks mod, as the same happens to buckets.
